Think Pink!

The Murphy family took a trip down to Freeport today to do a little shopping at some of the outlet stores.  Our goal today was to start buying some clothes for Baby Girl Murphy and to start Jack's summer wardrobe.

It was a beautiful winter day, the sun was shinning in full force and it was almost 50 degrees out!  That may seem chilly to my southern family and friends, but when you have been having temperatures averaging in the teens a 30 degree difference is right balmy!

Our first stops were to the Carter and Osh Gosh stores.  Let me just tell you that there are many more girl's clothes than boys!  Bryan and I have always joked when shopping for Jack, at children stores, that 2/3 of the stores are filled with clothes for girls while the boys have a little corner in the back.

I actually sent a text to my best friend in a panic who happens to have a little girl.  I needed help!  Where was I to start?

Yes, I know it may seem silly I am a girl I should know how to shop for one, but I didn't even know where to begin.  With Jack I would buy a top, a bottom and done.  With little girls there were tops bottoms, legging, skirts, tutus, shoes and accessories. I completely forgot about all the hair bows, ribbons, and barrettes, etc. .

Here is a picture of the goods.  I do love shopping for clothes for my kids and I did have to force myself to walk away before I had to take out a second mortgage on the house.  Jack even picked out a few outfits for himself.  His favorite color is red, so all the clothes he picked out were in some shade of red.  He also wanted to pick out a bib for his sister.  He picked out a blue one with sharks on it.  He's reasoning for the choice: he was 3 and there were 3 sharks on the bib.  A no brainer really!  As you can see we stayed away from the hair accessories this time around.  But we did earn 50 dollars in merchandise for March, so it looks like we may have to make a return trip next month.

Another great find was a snowsuit for the little one.  Last year, I scored an awesome pair of ski pants for Jack at Patagonia for $8 down from $70.  Unfortunately, they didn't have his size this year, but we did find a cute snowsuit for his sister.  And it is an owl print which is what I was thinking of doing for her nursery theme.
