Last weekend, Bryan and I took a child birthing class at the hospital. I definitely recommend it for all new mothers. It answered a lot of our questions and got us thinking about things we never thought to consider. And I have to admit that it may of scared us a little! For instance, the use of a vacuum or forceps. All I can image is our baby's neck getting pulled and stretch as they use the forceps to pry it out and our baby having a giraffe neck!
Bryan and I want to try and go as natural as possible, but we aren't against getting an epidural if it becomes too much. The woman teaching the course brought it into perspective by stating that it's one day of the year and if you are luck and have the average 12 hour labor, it ends up being half a day of god wrenching pain. So we are going to give it a go and see what happens.
