About 10 minutes into the ultrasound the sonographer asked if we were ready to know the sex, and she shows this on the screen:
That blob apparently is our baby's little girl parts, and the first thing out of Jack's mouth was, "But I wanted a brother." He actually took it very well and as you can see in the above video seems very okay that he is to have sister.
Wow, a girl. I have to be honest I'm feeling a little bit overwhelmed with it all. I'm thinking girls are going to be way more complicated than boys especially as they get a little older. With Jack, Bryan was going to be in charge with having those first "talks" about becoming a man and all that. It's all me for this one! Then there is the matter of boys. I was talking to a co-worker who has two boys who are grown now and she shared this piece of wisdom with me. When you have boys you only have to worry about one penis, but when you have girls you have many more to worry about. Bryan is already asking my dad for advice. My dad may be only 5'6 but he had that look that kept the boys and boyfriends intimidated. Must be an Italian thing! :)
But we are really excited. I'm getting my initial wish of having a boy and a girl, and I am itching to go shopping for all the adorable girl clothes.
Here are a few more shots of our soon to be daughter:
