Still Blind

Today I had an appointment to have an evaluation for LASIK eye surgery.  I had gone a couple months ago and was deemed an excellent candidate and this was the final appointment before my surgery on May 10th.

Or so I thought.

I am pretty blind without glasses or contacts and could not wait to be free of them in a week.  Today I met with the surgeon and asks me whether I was pregnant or planned to become pregnant within the next year.  I said no I wasn't pregnant, but hoped to be within a year.  Well apparently your vision can change after having a baby.  They would still do the surgery, but I run the risk of having to have the surgery redone if there was a change in my vision...

So after a tearful conversation with Bryan we decided that delaying the surgery would be our best bet.  With my luck my vision would change although it didn't with Jack, but the surgeon said that it may if I was pregnant with the opposite sex.

Bad news I will be blind as a bat without corrective lenses for probably at least another 2 years.  Good news is it give me a little more time to save up for the surgery.

On a lighter note.  I finished another grad class.  Only 3 more to go until I have my Masters in Literacy Education!  Bryan and Jack bought me some beautiful flowers for the occasion.
