Jack has a stuffed Cookie Monster that was given to him by his Nana when he was born. Cookie Monster originally stayed at the grandparents' home, but the last time we were up Cookie stayed glued to Jack's hip, so needless to say Cookie came home with us.
Now of course if you have Cookie Monster you have to sing, "C is for cookie". Unfortunately, I only knew the first line, so I went on youtube to see if I could find the rest of the words. For those that are wondering the rest of the song goes: "Cookie, cookie, cookie starts with C".
As I was memorizing the difficult lyrics, Jack toddles over to see what had grabbed my attention. Jack hasn't had too much exposure to television. Being a teacher, I unfortunately come across too many students who cannot relate to too many things outside that virtual world. I didn't want my son's whole existence to revolve around television and video games. It also helps that out TV is downstairs away from it all. Anyways, I didn't expect too much of a reaction from Jack, but he took one look at the screen and a huge smile broke out on his face and he immediately began looking around the room for HIS Cookie Monster. He grabs Cookie crawls into my lap and together we listen to C is for Cookie. The clip is only about 90 seconds long, so I click on a related video titled: "Cookie reads Food". Jack starts cracking up as he watched Cookie pronounce the word food. However, Jack's absolute favorite part (he laughs every time) is when Cookie shakes salt and pepper onto the word Food and goes, "Dum dee dum dum dum!" Looks like we may have take a trip to see Sesame Street Live next time they are in town! :)
