Jack and Scarlett are still best buds and he gets excited about her doing new things as much as we do. Yesterday, she started making razzy sounds, Jack noticed this was a new skill and thought it was hilarious.
Halloween was a lot of fun this year. Jack is at the age where he now picks out his costume. He wanted to be a snake, and I scoured the web looking for a costume and couldn't find a thing. Apparently a snake costume isn't as popular as being a Ninja Turtle or Elsa. I was getting desperate until one night as I was getting Jack ready for bed, I pulled out a pair of footie pajamas that were designed to look like snake skin. I was so excited, we had found his costume! And thanks to Etsy we found the perfect hat for him to wear. My next problem was trying to convince Jack not to slither, but walk to the doors on Halloween night.
Scarlett was as cute as a button in her little Halloween outfit, and received many complements on her pumpkin hat.
Annually at Jack's daycare they have a parade where the kids dress up in their costumes and walk around outside. This was the first year we were able to go because I wasn't at work. It still melts my heart seeing our son get so excited to see us.
This year Jack and his best bud from daycare were going trick or treating together. We contacted Saad's parents and met them at one of the prime trick or treating spots in our area.
We got there early so the place wasn't packed, and not too spooky. Although, as we were walking by a house, a motion sensored giant tarantula jumped out at me, causing me to scream. The boys thought that was hilarious...
On Sunday, Maine was hit with a nor'easter and as crazy as it sounds we received about a foot of snow that day. Many homes lost power, we were very fortunate in that our lights only flickered a few times. Wasn't going to be much fun changing those diapers in the dark.
Scarlett witnessed her first snowfall, not sure she knew what to make of it, and Jack went out about 4 times that day helping dad shovel, making snowmen and snow angels.
It is still technically autumn, right?
