School has been is full swing for over a month in a half, and fall is upon us. With everyone back to school, we have had to cram all our family time on the weekends, and I don't think we have had one non-busy Saturday or Sunday.
Although I am craving a stay at home day, where I can catch up on laundry and housework, or maybe have time to read a book; I absolutely love our family time. I feel so fortunate in that both our schedules allow us to enjoy the weekends together. And I love how he is so involved in our son's life.
In early September, Bryan went to Casella's open house. Now Casella is the landfill in our area, and Jack and I chose to stay home that day. I mean it's a landfill, really wasn't high on my list of things to do. However, 10 minutes later, I get a phone call from Bryan telling me that he was coming back to pick us up. They had about 10 different construction trucks out there in which kids could climb up on and 'drive'. A 3 year old boy's dream!
Jack also went on his first horse ride! We were at our town's homecoming and they were doing free rides for the kids. From the look on Jack's face we may have a future equestrian!
And of course it wouldn't be fall if we didn't go to Treworgy Apple Orchard. It didn't disappoint and we had a grand time picking apples, feeding goats and listening to bluegrass music.

Our last big weekend outting was taking Jack to see Sesame Street live. He absolutely loved it! He got a little antsy towards the end of the show, but he held it all together. We bought him a souvenir, which was this toy and when you pressed the button Elmo would spin around and light up. Thank goodness for that, because it kept him entertained, and the popcorn helped too!

So I have to comment about these balloons. During intermission, a guy comes out in the stage area with about 50 giant Elmo balloons. I secretly hope that eagle eye Jack doesn't spot this herd of Elmos, but of course in about 5 seconds I hear, "Look mommy Elmo balloons!" TEN BUCKS for these suckers! I held tight to it while we were in the civic center and during the show two ended up floating to the ceiling and I cringed at the parent who had the child who owned that balloon.
But good news Elmo balloon made it safely home, where it floats in a corner of the house untouched...
Coming soon I'll be sharing my attempts of making Jack's Halloween costume this year. All I can say is thank goodness we do trick or treating at night!
