Last weekend we out to eat as a family. We'd received a gift card to the Olive Garden (thanks Kara!) and decided to use it. We had just left the Maine Jump which is an indoor facility that includes inflatable slides and bounce houses. Jack loves it there and has since kept asking when we will 'slide' again, so I have a feeling will be going again over February break.
So back to the Olive Garden... We arrive around 4:45, thinking we would beat the dinner crowd, but it was packed. We had an estimated 45 minute wait, but were able to snag a table in the lounge. Jack was very well behaved considering it was so close to bedtime. He munched on breadsticks and soup, and snacked on some items I brought with me. Through the middle of our dinner service, our waiter came out apologizing that our order was going to be a few more minutes longer. No problem. We were pretty much full from the first course anyways. At the moment Jack starts getting antsy, both Bryan and I agree to take our meal to go and eat it after Jack goes to bed. We inform our waiter, give our gift card to pay for our meal, and our waiting to receive our receipt, when a woman approaches our table. She introduces herself as the manager of the restaurant and had heard that we had to take our food to go. She apologizes for the long wait of the food (which really wasn't that long considering how busy they were) and wanted to pay for our meal. We tried telling her that it was okay, and it wasn't why we took our food to go, but she was firm in her decision. Score! So needless to say we have an almost full gift card to use again-minus the beer and tip we left for the waiter.
As we were walking outside I told Bryan that we may have to get all our food to go while dining! Again our little Irish luck charm strikes again. Thank you Jack-a-roo!!
