Fittingly our Jack turned 11 months on St. Patrick's Day. I dressed him up head to toe in green for daycare and planned on taking his 11 month picture when he got home. Well, I pick him up and he was wear his Halloween "I love mummy" onesie with his green pants and shamrock socks. He had an accident and they had to change him...
My mom flew up for a few days and got to spend some quality time with her grandson. He loves to show off in front of other people and he was true to form showing off for his Memere. Jack cannot wait until the next visit!
Some new things that Jack has started doing since last month: He loves to play with doors, especially his bedroom door. He'll close it, then peek behind it and swing it open. He's own version of peek-a-boo. Today he waved bye-bye for the first time (on cue). We left his daycare and I told Jack to wave good-bye to his teacher, he didn't, but as we left the through the door he waved good-bye. When you think about it, that's pretty smart of him. We weren't ACTUALLY leaving the first time I asked him to say good-bye, he waited until we were out the door.
Also this evening, as I was feeding him dinner he shared some of his food with me. He just beamed at me when I ate from his fingers. Already so polite!
Jack has found his "lovey". It is a white afghan that my grandmother made for him before he was born. I don't know how long it will stay white, but I love the fact it was made with love and by my grandmother nonetheless. He will grab the blanket, especially when he is sleepy, and just bury his face right into it and hugs it tightly while sleeping.
I have suddenly realized how difficult it is to now get Jack to pose for pictures. He won't sit still! There were many more pictures taken then the ones I posted, as you can see Jack did not want to be held for pictures.
We took a trip up North to visit my grandparents and it was the first time when I got a real sense of nostalgia. It hit me when Jack started playing with this stuffed polar bear of my grandmother's that I remember playing with when my siblings and I would go visit. Granted the bear is now more of a gold color then snow white, but I had a full circle moment watching him play with that bear.
I cannot believe that my next post will probably be about his first birthday. Time has flown by!!!
