Fourth of July

The Murphy Family celebrated our first Independence Day with Bryan's family on the Maine coast.  Not only was this Jack's first Fourth, but it was also the first time we stayed at a location for more than a day with him.  We spent 3 nights at the in-laws and it was after this stay that I realized what a good baby we have.  He was such a good boy!  We went to a BBQ on Sat. and he charmed all the ladies.  Jack was invited back next year (his parents too, but I think it's only because we'll be bringing Jack! :) )

Jack experienced his first parade and watched from the comfort of his stroller.  It's unbelievable to think that at this time next year he'll be walking!

Jack at this time has now discovered his hands.  For the past week or so he has been raising his fist in the air as if he is some sort of dictator.  While in Lubec, I watched him do his "power to the people" move and noticed that he was staring at his hand in utter amazement.  It's facinating to watch him discover the world one piece at a time.

Here are some pictures of Jack's first Fourth of July:

Excited for the Fourth

Waiting patiently for the parade to start

Quietly watching the parade

Holding his first piece of candy that he snagged at the parade.  As you can see he is more interesting in his hand than the lollipop.
