Jack was born April 17, 2010 at 12:55 pm. He weight 7.11 lbs and was 20 and 3/4 in. long. Labor went surprising quickly. At around 1:30 in the morning I woke up with contractions. In the beginning I had mostly back labor, but for whatever reason I didn't think back labor was true labor and Bryan and I just timed the regular contractions which were about 30 minutes apart. My back labor was about 5 minutes apart. After about and hour we decided to call the hospital to see if we should come in, and that when we found out that back labor is definitely real and to head to the hospital.
Our initial plan was to have a "natural" childbirth with no epidural. Well for those who haven't had back labor it is the worst possible pain. It felt like someone was put a hot knife in my back and twisting. After 5 hours I decided for the epidural, and 6 hours later our son was born.
