So I've definitely started counting down the days until our "official" due date, which is April 18. Though only 5% of women go on their actually due day, I am trying to stay positive and hoping our little Baby Murph is born early or on the date deemed by the doctors. It is a good thing mother nature only has us humans go 40 weeks, because I am ready to have this baby.
Somethings that I am looking forward to when this baby comes are: sleeping on my back, not taking 5 minutes to switch sides while in bed, not knocking my students in the head with my belly as I go by their desks or knocking over their water bottles as I sashay by, climbing up a flight of stairs without sounding like I just ran the Boston Marathon, being able to tie my own shoes again, eating deli meat, and having salad dressing.
Now there are a few things I will miss about being pregnant. I will miss being able to feel the baby move inside me. It's such a remarkable feeling and that bond that you form with your baby.
My hair. Since I've been pregnant my hair has become very think and lush. The complete opposite of my very fine hair pre-pregnancy.
The attention. Yes, I admit it. I have enjoyed the special perks that have come with the territory. People frequently let me jump ahead of them in line at the grocery or dept. store, doors being held for me, or picking up items that I have dropped (which for some reason my fingers have seemed to stop working and I drop EVERYTHING now).
But with all the moans and groans it will all be worth it in the end.
10 more days!! :)
