Bryan's parents own a timeshare in St. Maarten and they were gracious enough to invite us down this year (along with Bryan's sister Kara) AND paid for our plane tickets and hotel syaty. WHat a way to travel! Bryan's aunt and uncle hooked us up with a fabulous hotel suite that had two bedrooms, bath, kitchette, dining and living room. Perfect for a family with a 2 year old. ANd the best part of it all was we were on the first floor so we could walk right out onto the beach. So while Jac was taking his afternoon nap I grabbed the monitor, scooted a beach chair close by and was still able to enjoy the Caribbean sun and breeze.
It wasn't an action packed vacation, but that suited us just fine. I was able to finish a book in a half while we were there a rare treat since Jack has been born. Ate and drank my weight in conch fritters and coconut rum with pineapple juice, and best of all experienced my son's joys as he played in the sand, feed a macaw almonds and pratice his summer saults in the sand.
One of our excursions was going to Maho Beach to wath the planes arrive and depart from the airport. The amazing part about this location is the airport is litterly yards away from the beach, creating the illusion that the planes are going to land right on top of you. And for a two year old boy facinated with planes since our San Diego trip this was right up his alley. We looked adorable with his protective ear muffs on and big grin as we watched the planes.
We want to give a big thank you to Terry and Slim for letting us join you on your annual vacation. We apprecate all that you did and had a blast the whole time Jack had a great time when we he started to cry as we were leaving. :) You know Thank you to Dana and Judy for finding the Belair for us. It was absolutely perfect in every way and made vacationing with a toddler
So I hope you all enjoy the pictures and videos. We cannot wait to return to the island of St. Maarten.
Pretty much what we did all week. :)
