Christmas in San Diego

We just back from a fantastic trip to visit family in San Diego, CA.  I want to write down everything before I forget.

We left early Christmas Eve morning.  Our flight left at 6:00 am, so we were up and at em in the wee hours of the morning.  We spent the night at a hotel near the airport.  It was Jack's first time sleeping in a hotel and he did great.  He loved playing on the King size bed.

This was also Jack's first flight on an airplane.  I was really nervous, because I had no idea how he would react.  We packed a carry on full of stuff for Jack.  Food, juice, toys, DVD player.  If it was small enough to pack we took it.  And we cannot forget Jack's lovies- his blanket and his Jack-size Elmo, who received many complements on the plane.

My main worries about Jack was the pressure change, how it would affect his ears, and whether he would want to sit still on my lap for the whole time.  Well I didn't have to worry.  He was so great!  He was curious about everything.  He (of course) liked playing with the overhead lights, the seat tray and window shade.  We snacked on yogurt melts during taking off and he slept for about 3 hours in our 7 hour flight.  We had one layover in Newark for about an hour, and we spent that time playing on the escalator and moving sidewalk.

Ready to go!
We was such a good traveler, we got many compliments from our passengers and we didn't have to break out the DVD player once.  Which ended up being a good thing, because we had forgotten to charge it before we left!
