This year Bryan and I decided to host Christmas at our house. We did Christmas morning with just the three of us and it was such a treat to spend the time together as a family and form new traditions. Surprisingly, Jack was pretty interested in the gifts he was given. He especially loved the giraffe chew toy that was in his stocking from Santa.
In the afternoon, my dad and his girlfriend, Bryan's parents, his sister and my brother came over for dinner and to exchanged gifts. It was so much fun watching the different generations interact with Jack. He was so well behaved and in such a good mood. Both Bryan and I are blessed to have family that are involved in our son's life. I know he doesn't know this now, but he is lucky to have most of his grandparents close by. Growing up I and the rest of my siblings didn't have the opportunity to see our grandparents on a weekly or monthly basis. Sometimes years passed before we saw them again. Although I cherished those few precious moments with them it's nice to know that Jack's grandparents will frequently pass on their wisdom to him, and make their own memories that will shape and influence his life.
